Medical Physics and Engineering (MedPhysEng)
Medical Physics and Engineering is evaluated as a highly growing business field worldwide. Especially, musculoskeletal disorders, rapidly increasing due to aging of population, are causing major challenge to healthcare. Good quality of life in old age requires ability to move and function as long as possible. This can be supported by the means of medical technology. Major improvements are achieved in dynamic areas of tissue technology and biomaterials. Other important field in medical physics and engineering is hospital physics, i.e. physics needed in clinical work in hospitals.
In MEDPHYSENG students will gain broad knowledge in different areas of medical technology i.e. medical devices, physics of medical imaging, physics of therapeutics, biomaterials and material technology. As the field is highly cross-disciplinary the students will be able to emerge information from different fields to achieve successfully goals in hand.
